Bakar Bio Labs and Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology present the Neurotech Collider Lab: an interdisciplinary space for neurotech.
NIH-supported year-long training for UC post-graduate students, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers. Hosted by UC Berkeley’s Neurotech Collider Lab and Bakar BioLabs. Learn to move Alzheimer’s and dementia research from lab to market through immersive patient experiences, entrepreneurship training, SBIR/STTR grant writing, and FDA navigation. Two in-person immersive weeks at Berkeley (room & board covered), weekly workshops with industry mentors, and hands-on prototyping. Graduate with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Technology in ADRD and SBIR-ready concepts.

Designing with Purpose: Student Innovation to Support Youth Mental Health
In April, the Dana NextGen team visited the University of California, Berkeley campus to see the “Designing Tech Solutions for Youth Mental Health” course in action. The course, designed for undergraduate students to gain hands-on learning experience in entrepreneurship and technology, is not your typical classroom experience—rather, it’s a 16-week immersive program—known as a “Challenge Lab,” where students work in teams spanning different disciplines to explore complex challenges in the mental health landscape. During the course, students draw from diverse vantage points to prototype solutions and learn what it really takes to bring ideas to life. Read post

The SonAura team is part of the Neurotech Collider Lab’s “Designing Tech Solutions for Youth Mental Health” course. SonAura redefines personal audio by creating an AI-powered, adaptive sound bubble that enhances nearby voices while minimizing background noise — delivering seamless, headphone-free conversations through ultrasonic beamforming technology. Neurotech Collider Lab ENSURE Program Launches with Support from the Dana Foundation
With generous support from the Dana Foundation, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Equitable Neurotech Solutions for Underserved Regions Everywhere (ENSURE) program. The proposal is supported by the Dana Foundation’s NextGen program, which seeks to catalyze a new generation of interdisciplinary experts who will transform neuroscience and neurotechnology by prioritizing societal needs throughout their research and development. What is neurotech?
Neurotech refers to technology focused on understanding and interacting with the nervous system. It includes devices and techniques like brain-machine interfaces, neuroprosthetics, and neuroimaging to enhance our understanding of the brain and develop applications for healthcare and human-machine interactions. In other words, whether you’re creating solutions for brain health or Alzheimer’s, you have a place here!
